On the morning of February 7, the 2026 Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference Winter Inter-School Session kicked off at Jiangsu Yizheng High School. Hosted by the Organizing Committee of the Canal Cities Model UN Conference, and organized by Jiangsu Yizheng High School and Denuo International Education, the event gathered young students from various schools. They engaged in in-depth discussions and friendly exchanges on global issues, demonstrating contemporary middle school students’ broad global vision, outstanding critical thinking and active teamwork spirit. The venue was filled with youth, wisdom and positive energy.

At around 9 a.m., student delegates from different schools arrived at Jiangsu Yizheng High School one after another. The registration site was bustling with excitement. Though from different schools, delegates exchanged greetings and looked forward to the upcoming conference.

After registration, the session proceeded to a chairpersons’ meeting and well-designed ice-breaking activities. The dais of each committee officially met delegates, explaining the rules, agenda and academic expectations in detail. Interactive ice-breaking games quickly brought delegates closer, easing initial awkwardness and building early teamwork, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation and reflecting the conference’s goal of enhancing inter-school exchanges and friendship.

Following the ice-breaking session, the formal conference began. Delegates took on the roles of country representatives and joined in constructive debates. Focusing on the 1945 San Francisco Conference, FAO and UNSC committees, they delivered speeches, presented national positions, proposed motions and drafted documents. Through listening, rational debate and consensus-building, delegates improved logical thinking, expression and negotiation skills, and gained a deeper understanding of international cooperation and multilateral diplomacy.

The successful holding of the Winter Inter-scholastic Session provided a high-level platform for academic exchange and competence development. Through in-depth participation, students enhanced their comprehensive abilities, forged friendships and strengthened their sense of social responsibility. The conference’s values of communication, cooperation, understanding and peace inspired every participant.
