The Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference (CCMUN) recruits elementary and secondary school students across the country and organizes registration and selection processes within schools. At the conference, each participating school represents a member country and is assigned to different venues to simulate various United Nations committees. The Conference will present a range of awards, including Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, Honorable Mention, and several others. All participants will receive an official United Nations certificate. Schools with exceptional performance may be recognized as United Nations Sustainable Development Quality Education Center Member Schools. The Conference also invites diplomats from various embassies and consulates in China to attend and offer guidance. The entire event will be covered by CCTV News and local media outlets. Members of the organizing committee include active staff from international organizations and the United Nations. Focusing on key global issues addressed by the United Nations, the Conference aims to cultivate students' critical thinking, strengthen their ability to resolve disputes and conflicts through dialogue, broaden their international perspectives, and enhance their global competitiveness.
All participating student representatives can obtain the official certificate of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action
Excellent organizing schools can apply for the official member schools of The committee of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action 35553 and the United Nations Institute of sustainability management, and are eligible to participate in official projects of the United Nations system
Officials from the United Nations and international organizations will provide academic guidance to participating students, imparting professional knowledge that will benefit them for life
The experience of the Model United Nations Conference will become an important highlight on students' resumes, helping to improve their background for successful further studies, overseas study and employment in the future
Best performing delegates will be invited to participate in activities related to the World Canal Cities Forum; they will then be upgraded to the Ivy League schools's Model United Nations Conference in the United States to interact and compete with young people from all over the world; they will also have the opportunity to visit the Golden Hall of the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the United Nations Office in Geneva and other places
