The Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference (CCMUN) recruits elementary and secondary school students across the country, and organizes registration and selection process within schools. In the conference, each participating school represents a member country and is assigned into different venues to simulate different committees of the United Nations. The Conference will award the best delegates, outstanding delegates, honorable mention and many other awards, and all delegates will receive the official United Nations certification. Schools with excellent teams can be awarded as the United Nations Sustainable Development Quality Education Center Member School. The Conference invites diplomats from the embassies and consulates of many countries in China to come to the scene for guidance, and CCTV news and local media will report the whole process. Members of the organizing committee include active staff of international organizations and the United Nations. The Conference focuses on the common global topics of the United Nations. Through speeches and debates, it cultivates the critical thinking of the participating students, exercises their ability to solve problems during disputes and conflicts, expands their international vision, and enhances their global competitiveness.
