On the morning of December 12, the opening ceremony of "Inherit Jiangxi's Charm, Uphold World's Harmony" Jiangxi "Tengwang Pavilion Cup" 2025 International Model United Nations Conference was successfully held at the Binjiang Campus of the High School Affiliated to Jiangxi Normal University. The conference was co-hosted by the UN Sustainable Development Goals Quality Education Executive Committee, Jiangxi Normal University and Window on Philadelphia, guided by the Organizing Committee of the Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference, and undertaken by the High School Affiliated to Jiangxi Normal University and Dernu International Education Group. With the purpose of promoting in-depth exchanges and mutual understanding among international teenagers, this conference brought together a large number of outstanding students, educators and diplomats from home and abroad.

Zhang Jianguo attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He extended warm congratulations on the convening of the conference and highly affirmed the international vision and sense of responsibility of the young people. He pointed out that in the face of global challenges under the profound changes unseen in a century, international multilateral cooperation is particularly important. He hoped that through the Model United Nations activities, students would sow the seeds of peace and development in their hearts and grow into pillars of the society that promote international cooperation and common prosperity of the world in the future.
Chen Xiaotong attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. On behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, he extended warm congratulations on the convening of the conference and welcomed all participating teachers, students and international friends. He pointed out that Model United Nations is an important platform for young people to broaden their horizons and exercise their abilities. He expected the students to build consensus and demonstrate their responsibilities through in-depth exchanges, and hoped that this conference would become an important bridge for promoting friendship between Chinese and foreign young people and international educational cooperation.
Professor Zhong Yexi attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He said that this conference provides an important platform for young students to broaden their international horizons and temper their critical thinking abilities. He encouraged all delegates to conduct in-depth exchanges with an open and inclusive attitude, address global challenges with wisdom and collaboration, and believed that this intellectual event would surely inspire more young people to pay attention to the world and contribute to the future with enthusiasm and responsibility.
Jessica Anne Naphy from Conwell-Egan Catholic High School in Pennsylvania, USA, spoke as an American student representative. As a student returning to China to participate in the Model United Nations Conference in Nanchang for the second time, she expressed her expectations and joy for participating in this conference in her speech. She said that this is not only an academic experience, but also an opportunity to deeply perceive Chinese culture.
He also delivered a congratulatory letter from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on behalf of the body. He conveyed the congratulations of the Pennsylvania government on this conference. The congratulatory letter affirmed the positive contribution of such youth exchange activities to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples, expressed the good will to continue supporting China-US youth educational cooperation, and designated December 11 of each year as "CCMUN Day" in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania (where Harrisburg, Hershey and other places are located).

After the opening ceremony, dozens of principals and leading teachers from primary and secondary schools at home and abroad attended a seminar on AI-enabled education. The participating delegates had a lively discussion on topics such as how artificial intelligence reshapes classrooms, empowers teacher development and promotes educational equity.
This conference lasts for three days. More than 700 participating delegates from over 40 schools around the world will discuss multi-dimensional global issues in accordance with the operating mechanisms of ten committees, namely the 1945 San Francisco Conference, Committee on World Food Security, International Telecommunication Union, UNCTAD, FAO, UNSC, IMO, UNODC, SOCHUM and CSW. A number of awards will be selected and presented at this conference, including Best Delegate Award, Outstanding Delegate Award, Honorable Mention Award, Best Position Paper Award, Model UN Star Award, Personal Excellence Award and Publicity Ambassador Award.
With the successful conclusion of the opening ceremony, the curtain of this conference has officially risen. We look forward to all delegates gaining growth and friendship beyond the simulation through the clash of ideas and cultural mutual learning, demonstrating outstanding leadership and collaborative spirit, and jointly writing a vivid chapter of international understanding education.
