Sports are increasingly becoming integrated into urban life, much like breathing, inseparable for even a moment. The rise of sports is no longer merely for the sake of physical fitness; it has become an important indicator of urban civilization progress. The significance of sports to cities extends beyond public health. Currently, many cities have profoundly recognized the importance of sports in urban development and consider it a key element, alongside art and culture, in enhancing the city's soft power.
On April 13, 2024, the Canal City Model United Nations Club will collaborate with schools in the United States to jointly host a charitable event—the Fourth Session of the Sino-US Youth "Virtual Exchange" Program. Chinese and American students will engage in discussions about popular sports and cultures, fostering mutual understanding between the two countries while enhancing friendship and broadening perspectives.
1. This event will establish 4 groups from China and 4 groups from the United States, with limited availability. Rules will be announced in advance. (Each Chinese group member can create a group chat for mutual communication).
2. The "Virtual Exchange" will allow members of both groups to prepare presentations in the form of PowerPoints, graphics, vlogs, etc., based on the theme announced for each phase (in English).
Example: [Marathon] Theme
Round 1: Group members will share their prepared content on the chosen theme. They can introduce aspects such as the origin, development, and unique features of the sports project's city. They can also incorporate short videos to enhance their presentations.
Round 2: "Question Session" will be set up for attendees to interact by asking questions about each group's presentation content.
Round 3: "Voting Session" will allow members and viewers to vote for the "Hottest Global Sport of 2024" based on the introductions provided by each group.
