On February 4th to 5th, 2024, The Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference · 2024 Winter Interschool Conference concluded successfully in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. This conference is jointly organized by Window of Philadelphia and DENO International Education, Co-organized by Yizheng High School of Jiangsu Province. Over a hundred of elementary, middle and high school students from the province, along with some international exchange students, are attending together.

The Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference aims to enhance students' public speaking and debating skills, improve their organizational and planning abilities, foster research and writing skills, develop conflict resolution and consensus-building skills, cultivate critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership, promote cross-cultural understanding, broaden international perspectives, and nurture well-rounded citizens with a global outlook among young people through simulating United Nations Conference. During the conference agenda, student delegates engaged in discussions on international hot topics such as creating sustainable food systems, building sustainable cities for the future, and addressing urgent climate conditions, presenting relevant solutions.

At 4:00 PM on February 5th, Mr. Yao Guoping, Principal of Yizheng High School of Jiangsu Province, Mr. Wu Hongbin, Deputy Director of the Finance Bureau of Yizheng City, Mr. Wu Min, Vice Principal of Yizheng High School of Jiangsu Province, Ms. Xiu Fei, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Yizheng High School of Jiangsu Province, Ms. Liang Yu, General Commander of the Model United Nations Interschool Conference of The Canal Cities, along with student delegates and members of the presidium, attended the closing ceremony.

At the beginning of the closing ceremony, Mr. Yao Guoping, Principal of Yizheng High School of Jiangsu Province, delivered the closing remarks. He expressed that this conference was not only an academic feast of verbal exchange and intellectual collision but also a stage where contemporary youth embrace the world with active dreams. The Model United Nations conference is brief, yet it encompasses endless perspectives and insights. Its significance is profound, representing an unquenchable belief and great love. To all the delegates present, we hope that through your experiences in the Model United Nations conference, you will stride towards a broader stage in life!

As the Secretary-General of this Inter-school Conference, Ms. Tang Jialing provides a summary and remarks. She expresses her affirmation of the excellent performances and progress made by all delegates during the conference period. The meticulous preparation before the conference, the eloquence during speeches, the strategic planning in sharp suits, the eagerness to speak during motions, the heated debates during free discussions, and the passionate writing during resolution drafting - all these moments are etched in everyone's hearts. We believe that after two days of academic exercise, the delegates will reap many benefits for their studies and lives in the future. We look forward to witnessing each delegate shine even brighter on their future paths.

Each committee presidium member took the stage to deliver their speeches. They expressed that although the Model United Nations conference lasted only two short days, they witnessed each country's representative transform from a state of confusion to confidence. They also witnessed delegates advocating for their countries' interests in the conference hall. They believe that the Model United Nations not only provides knowledge of international politics but also fosters a community of like-minded friends and instills greater confidence and courage in oneself. Finally, they wished everyone to remain true to their passions and have no regrets in their youth.

After three intense sessions of discussions, the following awards were finally decided: Best Style Award, Best Position Paper Award, Honorable Mention Award, Outstanding Delegate Award, Best Delegate Award, and various other awards, to commend the outstanding performances of the delegates during the conference.

The host announced the list of award winners and invited the guests present to present the award certificates to the outstanding Model United Nations delegates and teams, capturing a memorable group photo.

The Canal Cities Model United Nations Conference · 2024 Winter Interschool Conference continues the organizing principles of the Model United Nations Conference of Canal Cities, aiming to cultivate an increasing number of global citizens who take human development as their mission on the international stage. We hope that more and more young people will join us, sow the seeds of Model United Nations, and contribute to the future!

With that, the two-day Model United Nations conference came to a successful conclusion.
